Who we help

Curtain & Blind Design is the trading name of Adey Interiors Ltd, led by Katherine Adey. We work for homeowners who have reached the point where off-the-shelf window dressing will not do the job: bay windows that need three pairs to read as one, sash windows two and a half metres tall, awkward returns, stairwell glazing, and rooms where the curtains have to answer to existing joinery and flooring.

Alongside private homes we make to repeatable specifications for developments, lettings and show homes through contract curtains and voiles.

The specialism is not one product; it is the sequence: see the room, view the fabric in its light, measure once with the hardware position agreed, then make to those figures.

How the studio works

The approach is deliberately unhurried. Rather than selecting from a catalogue in a showroom, fabrics are brought to your home and judged against your walls, flooring and daylight. Measurements are taken at the same visit, so the specification is settled in one place with the room in front of us.

What follows is a clear specification: fabric, heading style, fullness, lining and interlining weight, hardware and finish. Nothing is cut until you have seen and understood it. On fitting day we hang the curtains or blinds, set the poles or tracks, dress the headings and take the packaging away with us.
